The Art of Chuck Miley

The Story:

Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket return home to find Mister Geppetto gone, having been swallowed by Monstro. The two go in search of the monster. They enter Monstro's belly when the whale opens his mouth to feed on a school of fish, and find Geppetto. 

Stromboli is a fictional character and a villain from the Disney film Pinocchio. He is a very large gypsy showman with a black beard who buys Pinocchio from Honest John, for a living puppet is a great attraction. Stromboli earns a great deal of money by showing Pinocchio on stage, but all Pinocchio earns is a fake coin Stromboli finds.

My Inspiration: In the original book Adventures of Pinocchio written by Carlo Collodi, Monstro was the giant shark who swallowed Geppetto, Pinocchio and all. It was Disney who gave us Monstro the antisocial, maniacal whale. The whale gave me the chance to develop the swirling water and smoke, although that could have been just as effective with a giant shark with a mean attitude.
